| The 8th edition of Summer's Last Blast took place over the weekend at the Port
of Dubuque. As Dubuque finally got a break in the weather, it's clear
that the locals took advantage of it. Friday and Saturday saw pack
crowds enjoying great rock and roll from Kip Winger, Johnny Trash,
Jabberbox, The Love Money's, a reunited Middletown and 365's own Rocket
Surgeons. Thousands pack into with the River Museum as a back drop
and the overpass as a roof and rocked the night away. A short distance
away, the Irish Hooley was also packing them in at the Alliant Amphitheater.
Tow big shows at the same time? No problem. Thanks to Scott, Ken and
the crew at Music and More Promotions for inviting the Surgeons and
365 to take part in the event. A portion of the proceeds benefited
the National Mississippi River Museum and Hospice of Dubuque. Wow!
Between the Hooley and the Blast, Hospice really cleaned up this year! It couldn't happen to a better organization. Revisit
two big nights of rock and roll in the photos below by Mike Ironside
and Bryce Parks. |
