Going up in the sky with the Golden Knights
On July 3rd, 365's Tanya Tjarks, herself a skydiving instructor, took to the skies with her skydiving sister and the U.S. Army Golden Knights Skydiving Team. Though high winds kept the team from making their post-sunset jump, the trip still made for a very interesting set of images and from the ground, the view of the plane cutting through the storm clouds with it's searchlights was quite memorable. When the team knew the jump would not be happening, they decided not to let their pyrotechnics go to waste and the soldiers hung their legs out of the plane where their boots, rigged to emit showers of sparks, let a stream of streaking light across the night sky. See the planes of the air show as they staged at the Dubuque Regional Airport and go up with Tanya, Tasha and the Knights.
