Fireworks 2005 The day may have started with overcast skies and rain. But despite undewhelming forecasts for the day, it turned out absolutely perfect. A massive crowd of Dubuquers and guests took in another stellar air show and perhaps the best fireworks display ever including a series of encore finales. The Dubuque Jaycees and the stations of Radio Dubuque including KAT-FM, KGRR, KDTH and The River once again gave Dubuque it's biggest event of the year. Once again pulling double duty as 365 guys and also Dubuque Jaycees, we spent a lot of time parking cars early before we could pick up the camera and get out in the crowd. But we made it eventually and found a lot of people deep in the patriotic spirit. This year we also took some short movies of the fireworks show on our digital cameras you can watch below. It goes without saying that we take our hats off and bow on one knee before those responsible for this spectacular day of activity. There are a lot of people who did a heck of a lot more volunteering than we did and it starts at the top with Perry Mason, Tom Parsley and the crew at Radio Dubuque who put in countless hours and resources to make this show possible. It's clear that for them, this is a product of passion, and we all owe them a huge thank you. And to my fellow Jaycees who put in countless hours of work doing the grunt work to make everything run smoothly and get yelled at by people who don't like where they got parked, you are the pulse of civic activity in this community and deserve all the praise the city can express. What do you say we heal these sunburns and do it again next year? |

Fireworks Movies
We took a few AVI movies with our digital still camera. The following movie
links are all between 5 and 7 Megabytes each.
So they're short. But if you missed the show, you can relive it here!
