John Edwards revisits Dubuque with Kevin Bacon
Democratic Presidential candidate John Edwards makes one more swing through the
key city tell his story for the future of America. This time he brought
Kevin Bacon with him to do a little entertaining. Following his musical
performance, congressman Bruce Braley spoke to the audience in support
of John Edwards before the candidate himself, joined by his wife Elizabeth,
took the microphone. He focused his message heavily on healthcare and
the problem of big business and their influence on government. Drug companies,
and healthcare companies with their money and lobbyists not allowing
the will of the people to come true. He stressed that to make a change
will require an "epic fight", not just negotiating, as the power brokers have nothing to gain by negotiations.
He pointed to his decades of experience in beating big business in the
courtroom and in the senate on behalf of the average American as a reason
to support his candidacy.
