20th Annual Dubuque Dragon Boat Festival
A beautiful weekend for a boat ride. Even better if you can take about 20 friends out with you! The 20th Annual Dubuque Dragon Boat Festival returned to friendly shores of Island located along the Mississippi behind the Dubuque Greyhound Park and Casino. Teams from across the midwest and indeed around the world (as far as Germany) gathered for friendly (heated) competition. Most teams have crazy names and many ride for good causes, such as the two breast cancer awareness teams at this years festival. From the photos you can see that they raised so serious dough for the cause. Clearly the weekend was a huge success and if it's possible, people could possibly have had too much fun.

All the wonderful photos you see here were taken by the venerable 365 Dragon Boat (and Polar Plunge and Corporate Games) correspondent Doug McCallum who was happily back on both feet this year. When asked how crazy the parties got at night he admitted to being exhausted and in bed by 10 p.m. Sounds like someone's getting old.
