Candidate-a-palooza... the day before the Iowa Caucus!
On the day before caucus mania, a candidate blitz hit Dubuque. What a long strange
trip it's been. Two whistle stop visits hit the Airport. First, Democratic
New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson spoke to supporters and a little
later in the day, Republican Arizona Senator Jon McCain visited
the same site (with a cooler backdrop we have to say). He had a powerhouse
entourage including former candidate and Kansas Senator Sam Brownback,
South Dakota Senator John Thune and a rare political appearance by
Richard Nixon's daughter, Tricia Nixon Cox. Across town, President
Bill Clinton
mesmerized another crowd with his usual gift for public speaking
on
behalf of his wife Hillary at Roosevelt Middle School. The the
day wrapped up
with the last minute announcement of a visit from Janet McCain Huckabee,
wife of candidate Mike Huckabee, the former Governor of Arkansas.
(he's from Hope too!). Joining Mrs. Huckabee was none other than
Movie Star
and Martial Arts legend Chuck Norris and his wife Gena at the Mississippi
Mug Coffe Shop. Whew! That was a full day. And it was just a warm
up. The real heat happens today at the Iowa Caucus. Whether you have
chosen a candidate
or not, get to your caucus site and take part. Talk to supporters
of all the candidates and make your voice heard through your vote.
Our
actions shape the race for President for an entire nation. First
in the nation
is an honor, no matter how tired you are of commercials or annoying
phone calls. It all ends tomorrow. So get out and make a difference
tonight! - Photos by Jef fStiles, Bryce Parks, Mike Ironside, Gaile Schickwrath,
