| Call me crazy but isn't the Chili supposed to be hottest part of the day? Man, it was practically a scorcher in Cable Car Square on Saturday for the Tri-States' Largest Chili Cook-Off. The beer was most definitely flowing and full throttle to keep the throngs quenched. Throw in a few hundred gallons of five alarm chili and fuggetabowdit! The Dert Tones kicked off the music for a set, then to our surprise, Brandon Stoney joined in and the Apple Dumplin's (as they are called when joined by Stoney) won a lot of new fans with their amazing set of classic country tunes. No not, George Strait. We're talking Waylon, Willie, Johnny, heck even Jerry Reed. I was pouring beer for a couple hours with the Jaycees and people couldn't stop talkin' about how great the band was. I wholeheartedly agree. Then again, I already know that. Take a spicy trip back to the event with 365 in the photos below and kick yourself if you weren't there in person! - Bryce Parks | |||
