Christmas Candlewalk in Cable Car Square - 2003
Despite cold temperatures and gusty minds, Dubuquers once again came out
in force last night for the holiday tradition in Cable Car
Square. Showing up a bit late and leaving a bit early, the
weather definitely played a part in this year's celebration.
But it did not dampen the spirits of the hundreds of area youngsters
who came to see the jolly fat man himself. Like clockwork,
he came down the hill on the Fenlon Place Elevator with Mrs.
Clause at his side and made his way to the familiar porch of
Shamrock Imports where tons of kids lined up to tell Santa
their Christmas wishes. 365 was waiting with our cameras and
photographed each wide-eyed tot and teenager as they sat on
the big guy's lap. If you were there, your picture is on one
of the pages below. Note that there are three pages of photos
so be sure to check all three pages. They are in chronological
order so if you were nearer to the end of the line, your pictures will likely be on page 3, etc. Thanks to all who
joined us for the event and thanks to Jan Feltes, the Cable
Car Square Assoc. and her great host of sponsors who made it
all possible.
