The Cable Car Square Christmas Candlewalk
The weather cooperated once again and the Candlewalk was another huge hit! The Cable Car Square Christmas Candlewalk is a great event for families with holiday music provided by KAT-FM, Madrigal Singers and the Bob Casper Carolers. Children look forward to the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus (usually about 6:30 p.m.) who descend to Cable Car Square on the Fenelon Place Elevator. Mobbed by the throng of excited kids, Santa and Mrs. Claus make their way to Shamrock Imports where they sit to hear each child's special Christmas wish.The event is also marked with the decorative lighting of Bluff Street with rows of luminaries, a beautiful way to see downtown during the holiday season. The Cable Car Christmas Candlewalk is sponsored by the Cable Car Square Association, Dubuque Greyhound Park & Casino, KATFM, KDTH, KGRR and the River, Burger King, Dubuque365.com, the Dubuque Jaycees and Dubuque Main Street.
