Dubuque Museum of Art Holiday Party and Art Auction Art lovers and collectors kicked off the holiday season in grand style at the Dubuque Museum of Art's annual Art Auction and Holiday Party last Friday, November 17 and 365 was there for the fun. The gala holiday party, which included a fabulous buffet, a variety of fine wines, and both a silent and live auction is not only a fundraiser for the museum, but a great reason to get dressed up and eat, drink and socialize with friends in the spirit of the holidays. The event was a huge success, thanks to the many artists in the Dubuque community who donate their artwork in support of the Museum and its activities. Just over 200 people attended the pre-auction party that included a silent auction, prior to the live auction itself, which was conducted by Fran Henkels and Gene Tully. Preliminary indications are that this year’s auction will be the most financially successful in the event’s history. The museum would like to thank all the artists and other contributors for a great event. - Photos by Mike Ironside |
