say they are making good time on the construction of the Alliant Amphitheater
would be a bit of an understatement. The project is well underway, perhaps
closer to completion than beginning. The colored concrete surfaces are
absolutely beautiful and the site as a whole is really starting to shape
up. It is clear that this will be an amazing place to party when the festival
season hits next summer. As of this update, the city is considering a
selection of proposed renovation plans for the Star Brewery. They will
narrow the proposals soon and request detailed RFP's (Requests for Proposals).
From those the city will award a bidder and remodeling will begin on the
historic structure. Expect some mixed use plans for the building including
such amenities as a micro-brewery, restaurant, retail shopping, pub, and
office space on upper floors. The final re-purposing of the facility will
be determined by the renovation plan the city accepts. The possibility
of the site becoming a fully functioning full time brewery only is very
slim, but until the deal is done, anything is possible. |
