On
October 16th, Dubuque celebrated another step closer to completing the
America's River Project by cutting the ribbon on the Citizen's Amphitheater,
funded in part by a generous donation from Alliant Energy. The area
will play host to many civic and cultural events in the future. Many
area residents and dignitaries were on hand as the area in front of
the historic Star Brewery was christened as a new centerpiece for area
entertainment. Watch for many music events to call the Amphitheater
home beginning this spring. The ceremony also paid special tribute to
Wayne Stoppelmoor who served as a integral piece of making this piece
of the America's River Porject possible.
