On
June 13th work was underway to apply the bricks and other façade
materials to the Grand Harbor Resort's hotel structure. Most of the completed
visible work is on the river side of the structure making progress hard
to follow from the view Dubuquer's get from downtown. Some dra walling
has also begun inside on upper floors and the top floor has showers waiting
to be installed. This week saw the installation of windows throughout
the building. Despite the deluge of rain Dubuque received in early June,
progress on the waterpark seems relatively unhampered. In these photos
you can see that the main waterpark structure is up and has a roof allowing
the crew from Kraemer Construction to continue working, moving tons of
earth around under the completed structure preparing for pools and patios
to soon be poured. While the floor of the park is leveled and poured
and the Hotel gets a pretty face, work will continue inside to complete
stud framing of the hotels many rooms as well as putting in place the
complex maze of electrical, data, and water utilities the hotel will
need. The hotels elevators are also now being installed.
