They
moved the William M. Black. (See images of that event, Click
Here!) to make way for construction of the educational wetlands.
You can see photos below of special backhoes digging REALLY deep to
dredge out portions of the harbor. Meanwhile, structural work continues
on the museum. Crews erect massive wooden beam trusses that will serve
as the support system of the Museum. Some of the aquariums have been
prematurely filled with water ti check for leaks before their preparation
moves onto the next step. Finally, intense remodeling, right down to
the bare bones, is being undertaken on the old rail house on the west
side of the museum. This structure too will eventually be refurbished
into a vital component of the America's River Complex.
Dubuque365.com
will soon condense our photo archive intoa "best of" to make
room for the next and most exciting phase of the project, the interior
and the exhibits construction.
