How much concrete can one building hold? I guess we are going to find out. Foundation work continues on the River Discovery Center. With a towering block shaft constructed in one corner of the building you can now get a better idea of how tall the finished building will be. It is sure to be an impressive structure along the water's edge. It is easier now to see where many of the aquariums will be located. Now that a great deal of the main structure is complete, a lot of work is being done on foundation pieces that extend out of the initial portion of the foundation. We were surprised to see the coverage area that these recently developing areas would consume. We assume that because of the less complex nature of these foundation pieces that there will be no aquarium features within these new portions of the museum. But they keep surprising us every time we show up so I guess we'll see! Did we mention this this is going to be big? Whew!
