Scores of volunteers, including nearly the entire Dubuque365 crew, work side by side with professional craftsmen to have the Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium ready to go for tonight's big black tie opening gala. Outdoors, parking lots are being painted, bricks laid, and entire log cabins built in a day while inside, exhibits, gift shops, cafes, and delicate electronics are flying up all over the place. And animals keep coming as well. Excitement is at a fever pitch and by the hour, the museum looks more and more amazing. Below are images taken between noon and 2:15 p.m. this afternoon. Tomorrow the Museum opens to the public with a massive celebration beginning at 10a.m. Get details on the opening celebration on the front page of Dubuque365.com. Now it's time for us to get back to work... |
