| It's
just about three weeks from the big day and work is moving forward
at a busy pace. Bodies are working on nearly every area of the Museum
at once from laying carpet to building decking. Many of the photos
on Page 1 were taken outside at the River Discovery Center. Since
our last visit, hundreds of square feet of decking has been completed
and the wetlands has been planted with dozens of trees as well as
a covering of natural grasses and other foliage. There are many shots
of this area below. It truly is a beautiful area and is sure to be
a favorite aspect of the museum. Though difficult to capture in a
camera lens, the overall atmosphere and view of this outdoor area
behind the center is really something to see. At the bottom of the
page you can also see a few shots of one of the new exhibits going
into the Museum on this day. It is a stream table that recreated
the river valley in the Dubuque area on which guests can recreate
historic floods from the past. Don't forget to check out page two
form more photos including some great shots of the (now visable)
aquariums inside the building. |
