The dream becomes reality as ground is broken and digging begins on the foundation of the Mississippi River Discovery Center. Gallery 1 highlights February 2002 activity on the Center including digging and shaping of the earth as well as preparing the plumbing and infrastructure for the coming concrete base that will soon cover the area. Cold telperatures halted work on a few occassions but all in all mild Winter weather gave the project a nice head start on the deadline.
